I'm a professional video content creator with over 12 years experience as a freelancer/sole proprietor. I'm ready to assist you with multidisciplinary skills, video/audio hardware, and software tools to provide a turnkey solution producing, directing, shooting, and editing videos on-site for your corporate events, branding, and social media.
My expertise shooting and editing video is the result of years of practical firsthand experience. From tech conferences in Santa Clara, Las Vegas, and Sarasota to political ads in Yellowstone Park, to safety training videos in Canada, to a web series in London, to vertical media campaigns in New York and Los Angeles – I've clocked hundreds of hours shooting videos on location. I've edited videos in hotel rooms, ballrooms, war rooms, and edit rooms.
The constant need to stay relevant can be particularly challenging today. With the proliferation and accessibility of today's video acquisition sources (e.g., cellphones, drones, 360º cams), keeping on top of day-to-day video trends and technology is a must. Whether it's a 6-sec (1:1) video for social media or an 8K (21:9) video to be projected on IMAG, my goal is ensure your video stands out creatively in addition to being technically compliant.
My personal approach to shooting and editing video is informed by virtues such as truth and authenticity. I maintain a sharp focus on capturing an emotional and social intelligence that will resonate with the widest audience possible. I set about every job highly motivated and inspired to do my best work. The simple truth is I love what I do and I am fortunate to do what I love for a living.
This was a quick camera exercise using the Sony FX9. The footage was shot over a couple of hours one afternoon. The raw footage was a 15-minute impromptu interview along with about 20 minutes of B-Roll. The final edit is 2 mins. All shot handheld with mostly available light – we bounced one small LED for the interview. Eric is a friend of a friend who agreed to participate on short notice. We'd only just met moments before the camera rolled. I acted as director/producer and did all the post. Adam Schwartz was the dp.
I shot the content for this short brand film over a 4-hour period at Salon 1150 in Austin, TX. All available light. I also provided the post and editorial. Starting with almost two hours of raw footage I trimmed it down to 30 minutes of selects before cutting that down to 2 minutes and then to the final 30-second edit posted here.
All shot at Canada House over 4 days during SXSW in Austin, TX. I shot B-roll, photography, and conducted multiple interviews. All available light. I also provided the post and editorial. I delivered this highlight video in addition to individual edits for each interview.
The content for this video was shot over 2 days in Las Vegas. I shot B-roll and a dozen interviews. I also provided the post and editorial. I delivered this highlight video in addition to individual edits for each interview. I also researched and provided the music track.
This clip is from the annual CES conference held in Las Vegas. The client is NXP Semiconductors. I shot B-roll and a dozen interviews over 2 days. I also shot this 16-minute non-stop, unedited, "walkthru" in which NXP CTO, Lars Reger highlights their catalog of technology demos on display. In addition to the obvious challenges shooting an uncut (and unrehearsed) 16-minute performance brings, the immense WiFi and RF interference presented unique complications for capturing audio with a wireless system.
This is a motion graphics example. Typically I'm asked to include some simple graphics –– logos or lower thirds. But I have years of experience working with After Effects and I am capable of doing more. This was a job that allowed me to use some of my animation skills. I was provided a script, approved copy, and the direction that it be a simple and clean design. The rest was left up to me. As in most cases, I also researched and provided the VO talent and music track.
This brand video was a passion project and collaboration with my good friend, Kirk Tuck . We each shot whatever inspired us with no direction beforehand. I also provided all post and editorial.
